Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to bookings, quotations and services supplied by TR Tankers Ltd.

1. About These Terms
These Terms govern the supply of septic tank emptying, cesspit emptying, sewage-treatment system servicing, drainage, high-pressure jetting and related wastewater services by TR Tankers Ltd (“TR Tankers”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By requesting or accepting a service, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these Terms. Consumers retain all statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
2. Quotations
Quotations are based on information available to us at the time. Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quotation may be subject to inspection, site access, tank capacity, waste characteristics, access conditions and the actual work required.
A quotation is not a guarantee that additional work will never be required. Where additional chargeable work is identified, we will seek customer agreement before carrying it out where reasonably practicable.
3. Bookings and Confirmation
A booking becomes confirmed when TR Tankers accepts the booking and issues confirmation, subject to any conditions stated. A booking confirmation may contain a reference number, service details and price, links to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, cancellation information and payment information where applicable.
Customers must provide accurate contact, property, access and service information and tell us about relevant hazards, restricted access, unusual waste, livestock, dogs or other circumstances that may affect safe attendance.
4. Access and Site Conditions
The customer must provide safe and lawful access to the relevant tank, cesspit, treatment plant, drainage system or work area. Access routes must be suitable for the vehicle and equipment required.
We may postpone, refuse or stop work where conditions are unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible or materially different from those described. We will explain the reason where reasonably practicable.
5. Waste and Environmental Requirements
Customers must not knowingly present hazardous, prohibited or materially misdescribed waste without notifying us. We may refuse material that cannot lawfully or safely be transported or disposed of.
Waste will be transported and disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental and waste legislation and our waste carrier obligations. Relevant waste documentation may be provided after the service.
6. Service Performance
We will provide services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable law. Attendance times are estimates unless expressly agreed as guaranteed. Emergency and operational circumstances, traffic, weather, access, prior jobs and unforeseen site conditions may affect arrival times.
7. Tank and Drainage Limitations
Emptying a tank or cesspit removes accumulated contents but does not guarantee that the underlying system, soakaway, drainage field, pipework, pump, treatment unit or other component is functioning correctly. Jetting and unblocking does not guarantee that a recurring blockage will not return where an underlying defect exists.
Where a defect, structural problem, root ingress, collapsed pipe, inadequate drainage field or other underlying cause is identified or reasonably suspected, further investigation or specialist work may be recommended.
8. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information and reasonable access.
- Identify known hazards and restrictions.
- Keep children, pets and unauthorised persons away from work areas.
- Do not interfere with hoses, equipment, tanker controls or safety equipment.
- Ensure required permissions are obtained where the customer is not the owner.
- Pay invoices and agreed charges in accordance with the booking.
- Tell us promptly about any issue with the service.
9. Pricing and Payment
Prices will be stated in the quotation, booking confirmation or other agreed communication. VAT will be charged where applicable. Additional work, excess capacity, difficult access, waiting time, emergency attendance or disposal requirements may incur additional charges where disclosed and agreed or otherwise permitted by law.
Payment may be made by the methods we make available, including online payment and Direct Debit where applicable. Stripe may process card payments and GoCardless may process Direct Debits.
Invoices are payable by the due date stated on the invoice. We may suspend future non-emergency services where amounts remain unpaid, subject to applicable consumer law.
10. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Customers should provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule. Any cancellation charges will be communicated at booking and will comply with applicable consumer law.
Where the customer asks us to begin services before the end of any applicable statutory cancellation period, we will obtain the required express request/confirmation. Where the law permits a charge for services already performed following such a request, that charge may apply.
11. Emergency Services
Emergency services may be subject to different availability, pricing and cancellation arrangements stated at the time of booking. The same site-access, safety, payment, waste and customer responsibilities apply.
12. Property, Damage and Liability
We will take reasonable care of customer property. Customers must tell us about fragile surfaces, underground services, restricted access, concealed hazards and known defects.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, TR Tankers is not responsible for loss or damage caused by pre-existing defects, inaccurate information, unsafe access, concealed conditions or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
13. Complaints and Rectification
If you believe there is a problem with the service, contact us promptly at David.oates@trtankers.co.uk. We will investigate and, where appropriate, offer reasonable rectification or another remedy in accordance with your legal rights.
14. Photographs and Evidence
We may take photographs reasonably necessary to record work, defects, site condition, damage, waste or completion. Marketing use of identifiable people or customer/property images requires separate consent where consent is the lawful basis.
15. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain and protect personal information and how customers can exercise their data-protection rights.
16. Third-Party Services
We may use subcontractors, disposal facilities, payment providers, IT providers and other third parties where reasonably necessary to deliver the service. We remain responsible for our contractual obligations to the extent required by law.
17. Force Majeure
We will not be liable for delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, traffic incidents, road closures, equipment failure despite reasonable maintenance, utility failures, industrial action, regulatory restrictions, emergency incidents or other events outside our reasonable control.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version applicable to a booking will normally be the version accepted at the time of booking, subject to changes required by law or separately agreed with the customer.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them removes or restricts any mandatory consumer rights or the right to bring proceedings in a court with appropriate jurisdiction.
